If I ever see this guy on the street ... I'm gonna break one of his frigid little icy fingers!!! Mr. Snow Miser ... huh, more like Mr. Jerk! Honestly, who makes it -2 degrees with wind chill when they know good and well I have to run 12 miles outside???
Look at him there. Smiling. Actually enjoying the icicles on his nose. It's cold I tell you ... C. O. L. D.! I ran by a snow man and he was shivering! I saw a 7-Eleven Slurpee looking for some hot chocolate! A polar bear was chasing me for a while, but I think I heard him say, "Screw this man, I'm going inside by the fire"! COLD!
Okay, maybe it wasn't that bad - but it was pretty chilly. (I know my Canadian friends are rolling their eyes right about now) When it's this cold out, it takes the focus off of your running form, pace, breathing, etc - all you can think about is getting it over with.
But ya know - I would feel 10 times worse right now if I didn't run. It's funny - it's kind of a love/hate thing. When it's this chilly outside, I dread the run all night, and don't love it while I'm running. But after I'm done, I'm relieved and glad I didn't take the chicken exit. HOORAY HOT OATMEAL!!!
Be Great Today!
That is pretty darn cold, even for Canada. It's the wind, I say! Makes it a challenge for sure. It was -5C/23F here today and no wind - very comfortable.
ReplyDeleteOh, and keep wearing those running tights, I think they look great unless being worn by the Krispy Kreme burger type
Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. It really means alot to me.
ReplyDeleteI love your use of Mr. Freeze Meister! He and his brother Heat Miser were highlighted during my Friday Lyrics-Christmas edition.
Keep braving those cold runs you will thank yourself later or at least that is what I try to tell myself! ;)
I have a suggestion. Move to San Diego and become my training partner. I can do that run at about 158 bpm - close enough.
ReplyDeleteMoving to SD sounds good, but I'm not rooting for the Chargers! ha.
