Workout Summary:
Good tempo run at Legacy Park Track. Kept heart rate elevated and felt pretty smooth other than the tight turns you are forced to make in the confined area.
Thank you, that's plenty! |
Madison and I were supposed to run together this morning, but the icy roads prevented it. It snowed a few days ago, and we were planning on running through the streets of our neighborhood, but a thin layer of ice this morning made it so you could barely stand up. Pretty bummed about it. Hopefully next week we'll get in 10 together!
Pretty good recovery week! Lots of rest and not a lot of mileage. I plan on easing back into it tomorrow with another tempo run on Tuesday, and light hill repeats on Thursday.

Man, 54 miles is considered "not a lot of mileage"?! I was actually at Legacy this morning for a treadmill run--what a ZOO! I don't usually go on Saturday's. Maybe there's a good reason for that! Yes--COME ON SPRING!!
ReplyDeleteSad I couldn't run with you today! But no worries. We'll get it done next weekend! =) Love you. Proud of you, as always!
ReplyDeleteWe are getting the white stuff again right now as well. Just hoping for clear skies tomorrow for my long run. Great pace Jim. Your pace is about 4 minutes faster than my PR for 10 miles and that's your tempo! Awesome. Frankly, I can't believe I was able to run 10 miles that fast for that long.
ReplyDeleteI think it is pretty impressive that you did 10 miles a week after a marathon. Nice job!
ReplyDeletea 54 mile recovery week is pretty intense, haha sounds like you are rolling right along towards Boston!
ReplyDeleteHi Jim,
ReplyDeleteFinally getting back into my routine. I tagged you in my race report which I finally got posted this morning. I've also caught up on your posts from this past week.
Funny story about the coeds from Texas. Your last 10k of the marathon was awesome! Those were fast splits. My final splits were slower, so I had runners passing me in the last 10k. Sounds like you're already rocking & rolling & running. Honestly I haven't run a mile since the marathon, but I have done cardio, and Monday, it's back in the running saddle for me too.
Good luck getting ready for your upcoming races. It was great getting to hang out with you.
Great recovery week!
ReplyDeleteTempo run? 54 miles? Dude, you are an animal. BTW, I just signed up for Long Beach Marathon in October...thank you in advance for coming and pacing me to my 3:20.
ReplyDeleteImpressive number of miles this week! Nice job on the tempo.
