Whew ... that was kinda tough! I usually don't run twice in one day, but I did Yasso 800's yesterday morning, followed by a leg workout at the gym later in the day. Then I remembered I needed to wrap up my Cupcake Marathon (that's a pun) ... so I went back out in the evening and got 'er dun! But I was spent!
I ran the first 22 of the race last Sunday, and completed the final 4.2 today. Honestly, I was a little disappointed with the crowd support for my Cupcake Marathon. People came out by the "1's", and most of the race it seemed like I was running by myself, with literally no other runners for miles. There were a few signs people made for support along the course, but they said things like "Stop" and "School Zone" ... totally didn't apply to the race???
Here is my Garmin from the last "4.2" ... I actually got confused and stopped my watch at 4.03, so I guess I'm really about .19/mile short - but I think we'll call it good. I'll have to check with the race coordinators. (you can see my heart rate was a little elevated - I was exhausted!)
All in all the Cupcake Marathon was awesome! I didn't enjoy a cupcake before this run like on the first 22, but ONLY because I didn't have one. Hope everyone else's Cupcake adventure went well!
... be great today!
Check that one off your list! Great finish! ;)

ReplyDeleteLove the race write-up for virtual races! And, the idea that you can complete it in pieces is really appealing.
ReplyDeletefinally, how has your experience been with the Yassos? Do you use them for training or more as a canary in a coal mine"
