First TWISTER!!!

I've lived in the Midwest all my life, and as most of you know, my niece lost her home in the Joplin, MO tornado a few weeks ago.  But about an hour ago, I just saw my first TORNADO ever!!! I'm in York, NE and it was about 10 miles away moving to the North from left to right.  We were perfectly safe as it moved across a big field.  Since it didn't do any damage and apparently no one was harmed, it was pretty awesome to see.

  3. I've never seen a tornado live either, but I've lived through lots of warnings, including one in high school that pulled my whole calculus class out into the hall during a test. It was like God sent that thing to save us (and fortunately no one got hurt).

    Great picture!!

  7. Wow, that is great to see when everyone is safe. We don't get that here in South Africa and I'm OK with that.:)

  12. Wow, crazy stuff! Glad it didn't cause any damage!

I've really only been involved in 1 natural disaster - 7.0 earthquake in 1989 bay area, but that is it I think.

  16. Just wanted to tell you that I hope a part of what my husband and I are doing on Sunday will help out Joplin:

I do not think I am prepared for the 13.1 miles, but this run isn't about the time for me. Just thinking about all of those affected.
