Great Online Map Tool For Tracking Progress

I know not every runner is trying to complete a marathon in every state, but for those who are - or for those who are looking for a cool way to show on a U.S. map exactly where they've ran - I found a great online map tool at the following link ...

http://www.clker.com/

It has free United States maps that you can color in.  Until I found this site, I had to use Microsoft Paint and manually color in the State for each completed marathon.  This site allows you color in the State with a click of your mouse and add different colors and effects of your choice.  Here is the map I created for my completed marathons (it can be found on my State Checklist tab) ...

You might be able to embed maps you create to your blog with this site - I don't know.  I just did a print screen and saved it as a picture.  Anyway - nothing earth shattering, just thought I'd share it.  Have a great week!
... be great today!

  2. I wish I could run a marathon in every state. That would be an awesome goal. Maybe after I'm 40 I could follow your lead :)..... let me get past my first one and I'll get back to you on that... LOL

  6. That's really cool. I was just wondering the other night how many states I've race in (not that it's a goal, just curious). This would be fun to utilize.

When are you coming to Colorado to run!?!? Pikes Peak Marathon, by chance? :)

  7. Terzah - just don't have CO scheduled yet ... I'm waiting for them to flatten out the elevation there to something that doesn't kill me

Gracie - I'm actually doing Baton Rouge in December

Christy - RnR in Phoenix is a definite maybe

Jill - See note to Terzah ... that altitude would kill me

  8. Phew! Luckily we have only 9 provinces here in SA and I've run marathons and ultras in all 9. Awesome tool though.

  9. New England is looking pretty blank (except for MA). Vermont City Marathon is Memorial Day Weekend, every year and it's an awesome beautiful race!! Next year....

  12. I will never run a marathon or race in every state but I keep track (low tech - color in) of each state I race in.

  13. Nice tool. Maybe when I get a few more states under my belt I won't be embarrassed to show a blank map.

Everyone else is asking you about coming to their state. But you mentioned running Prairie Fire in the Fall. Is that still your hope?

  14. Well, Illinois should be the obvious next choice. Then California, followed by New Mexico and Arizona. Are you listening to me?
