Workout Journal ... Recovery Run

            Course:  HyVee O&B
                Miles:  10
                Time:  1:19:51
        Avg Pace:  7:58/mile
            Avg HR:  155, 84% max
         Workout:   Recovery Run
               Temp:  39 Degrees, Humidity 77%, Wind 15NE
Miles this week:  44

Workout Summary:
Smooth recovery run - started slow, and after 3 mile warm up, averaged about 7:50 pace, which felt comfortable.  Fairly flat out & back past HyVee & Burger King on 291.  Just tried to keep lose and stretch out.

Notes:
Felt great during the run.  Nothing injured or sore after the marathon on Sunday.  Just still a little energy depleted and stiff, but everything seems good.  Ran 8 miles yesterday, and 10 today - I'll take tomorrow off and go light on the weekend.  And then back at it next week.  I feel pretty good about where I'm at health-wise.

  2. So glad you're doing so well post-marathon!

Also, I just read your mistaken identity post. That was hilarious! Sorry to hear your cheering section was so brutally ripped away from you!

  4. Your recovery run equals my long run this week. :o) Glad you have no aches or pains.

(For a MI marathon consider the Bayshore Marathon held memorial weekend. I ran the half last year and it is small, fast and beautiful! It sold out in 2 days this year. Just an FYI.)

  7. Great job in Austin!!! I'm a little behind. My best is 3:29:13, it sure feels good to slip under 3:30! I'd love to go sub 3:30 in Boston but i've never had a good run there. Ryan and I are running a marathon this Sunday, I'm already at #20, feels really weird. See you soon! Temps are starting to warm up here! Spring is getting closer!

  8. sounds like a solid "recovery" run! Is 84% of max heart rate pretty high for a recovery run? Maybe it was more like a moderate run haha
