Only a few days now until the Chicago Marathon, and I feel great about hopefully completing my 26th race. My weight is perfect. My ability to rev up to, and hold speed has never been better. And I've never ... I mean never ... been healthier going into a race. My legs are a little dead from the long taper, but they are 100% healthy. The only lingering question is can I hold my pace as long as I need to on Sunday ... but isn't that really the question with every marathon?
All that being said, I could really use your help on Sunday. I'm serious. One thing that really helps me during a marathon is when I know people are tracking my time. I track my friends' races all the time. It's almost like being at the race as you watch in real time on the computer. It would really mean a lot to me if you would track me on Sunday. It'll push me when I want to quit, and keep me focused. My bib number is B6330 (James Weatherly - male 44 - Lee's Summit, Missouri).
You can click on THIS LINK to get tracking results sent to you free via social media. You can also simply check on the race results page from time to time, I think they're updated in real time at certain check points.
Will I finally PR at this marathon ... I dunno. I think I should, but race day always seems to be this great mystery for me. I can tell you this though, I can't begin to explain how relaxed I am for this one. Just not worried about anything at all. I really want to run well, but if I don't I'm not stressed about it in the least. Simply having the opportunity to run this race is awesome. And it'll be a wonderful experience running with, and meeting friends & family in Chi-Town. So here we go ... RAWKFIST in the Windy City!!!
... be great today!
I added you and Michael to my list. So excited for you both. Have a great race!
