Bring The Ruckus ... (I Mean Cooler Weather!!!)

ALERT ... ALERT ... GREAT RUN THIS MORNING!!!
A day after a fair 12 mile tempo workout, a hard leg workout at the gym, and a couple of months of swealtering heat ... we had the coolest morning in a  long time, and my best run in weeks!!!  It was only 65 degrees, with 82%  humidity this morning ... and we got fast y'all!!! (... well, fast for me anyways)

Great, short progressive run this morning with the following mile splits ...
8:55,   8:16,   7:26,   7:20,   7:18,   7:06,   6:46,   6:37
Avg Hear Rate ... ONLY FRIGGIN' 154!!!

Man that felt awesome!  I have another SLOW recovery run scheduled for this afternoon and then rest tomorrow.  But my Saturday run is in Oklahoma ... I'm sure that will be "nice & cool".

"Throw up your RAWKFIST if you feel it when I drop this!" I have no idea what that means ... but it sounds AWESOME!!!
... be great today!

  1. This is my first time reading your blog and I am so impressed! My blog was inspired by someone with a similar goal to yours, and I have shaped it into my own (much smaller) goal. But I am loving all the races and always excited to hear about new ones. Keep it up!

I once ran 7:15 in a race. It was the first half mile of a 5K about 3 months ago. Then I had to slow down cause I couldnt breath HAHAHAHAH!!!

  4. So glad for the cooler morning for you guys, Jim. You have suffered enough (but look how strong it has made you). My mom and I have noted that when the weather changes up here, it usually changes down there a day or two later. And two days ago I noted for the first time in a while that I was almost *cold* starting out on my run. Today I was even chillier. So more cool may be coming your way (can't say for sure about Oklahoma, though...)
