I'm sure I'll edit this list several times, but here is my tentative race schedule for 2012 ...
Jan 8 - Disney World Marathon - Orlando, FL ... I'm going to pace Michael & be her paparazzi
Feb 18 - Myrtle Beach Marathon - Myrtle Beach, SC ... planning on this being an "A" race
Mar 18 - Georgia Marathon - Atlanta, GA ... just runnin' this one to check off another State

June 3 - Casper Marathon - Casper, WY ... probably gonna be hot
July 8 - Kansas City Royals All-Star Game 5K - Kansas City, MO ... definitely gonna be HOT!!!
Sept 1 - Pocatello Marathon - Pocatello, ID ... hope to pace Rachelle of Running For Trevor in this one
Oct 14 - Prairie Fire Marathon - Wichita, KS ... only other "A" marathon of the year - wanna be under 3:15
Oct 20 - Kansas City Marathon - Kansas City, MO - Its my hometown marathon, but we'll see how it goes in Wichita
Nov 3 - Marshall Marathon - Huntington, WV ... close to Michael's hometown
Dec 2 - Baton Rouge Marathon - Baton Rouge, LA ... great way to close out year
I learned in 2011 that you CANNOT PR in every race, so many of these will just be for fun. I'll probably add a 10K and possibly a 15K somewhere along the way - really want to get a faster 10K PR, but we'll see how things shake out!
... be great today!
Looks like you are in for another great year.
ReplyDeleteI am doing the Flying Pig half with a friend! It is her first! Great season of running for you ahead! Here's to a fab 2012!
ReplyDeleteFull schedule! Have a great time at every single race! I've only picked out one race. You make me look like a total slacker :p
ReplyDeletewouldn't expect anything less from you but you do realize how crazy it sounds to say that running a marathon will be for fun.....ha ha ha! I love it.
ReplyDeleteAmazing schedule... some great races in there! :)
ReplyDelete2012 is going to be a huge one for you! I'll be looking forward to reading lots of reports in the not so distant future.
ReplyDeleteI'm sad that you won't be checking off your Colorado marathon, but it looks like a great schedule and FUN. Enjoy, Jim!
ReplyDeleteVery ambitions schedule. My hips and knees can only handle 2 Marathons and about 4 half's a year.
ReplyDeleteLook at the elevation for the Flying Pig. I did the half 2 years ago - The first half is all up hill. Yes, it is down hill on the way back - but by then you worn out from running up hill.
I might do the Baton Rouge half in December - my schedule is not completely figured out yet.
You do indeed have a full schedule ahead of you for 2012! And I have no doubt that it will go as well as 2011!
ReplyDeleteYou went to a ton of cities in 2011!
And 4 first place age group finishes in races other than marathons is insane!
I am sorry to tell you that this schedule will need to be revised:
ReplyDeletethere is no CA on it
If the 2012 plan allows, be ready for a fast race at baton rouge. It's a 2 loop, fast course.
ReplyDeleteI think you need to add a tropical race say in Mexico or something. I would totally support that :)
ReplyDeleteGreat schedule!!
ReplyDeleteYou have three of my favorites on your list! Disney, Georgia and the Flying Pig. Disney is just awesome because it is Disney. Run with your camera if you want some great pics. There are photo ops with the characters throughout the course. Hope you and Michael have a great time!
